Public libraries have features that are different from any other institution in a community. They are truly “public” and free and always have their doors open to everyone. Although we often take libraries for granted, they are indispensable – they reach all levels of society and all ages of people. Libraries connect us to our world.
As we work to keep pace with the growing and changing demand for information, we want to make sure we have shelves full of books, state-of-the-art technology, and programs for people of all ages that spark imagination, inform inquisitive minds, and create life-long learners. Literate people make for literate communities and an informed citizenry improves the quality of life for all of us.
